The committee met for the first time this session last night (24th August).

As a result of our meeting we have a few ideas for the coming year but we also agreed to forego a production this autumn.

Its been a busy summer, we’ve had the jubilee celebrations, the Olympics and the KPs involvement in the village review. I did send out an email to get an idea of interest for this autumn and got a reasonable response but unfortunately time is getting on now and Chris is having problems identifying a play that he is happy with. Without others to offer ideas we are rather dependent on Chris,  placing quite a burden on him.

However we did agree to put something on in May next year, possibly the weekend of 17/18th May. We will offer play readings at times during the winter months, these can be fun but also get us in practice for the spring show. We would like to get started early on our next production, I will send out dates for play readings in the Autumn, if you have any material you would like us to try do bring it along, this needs to be a group endeavour.

Club nights will resume in October, the first on the 10th at the Blue Ball. We did discuss options as the Blue Ball has become more popular but decided to give it a try to see how it is now. It would be good to see lots of us there.

Another plan is for Theatre outings, probably locally to the Watermill / Corn Exchange but we are open to suggestions if you would like to travel further or have anything you would particularly like us to see.

We are hoping to hold a xmas dinner again this year, Pete will look into the options for venues,  it will probably be on the 2nd Wednesday of December, the 12th.

If you have ideas or suggestions that you would like to see implemented please contact one of the committee.  We are always looking for more people to join us, if you know of any likely candidates please encourage them to make contact and come along to a play reading.
